The chosen room was once our daughters bedroom. My wife had wallpapered it from floor to ceiling. She, evidently, never intended to have the wallpaper
come down. I spent one week trying to remove the wallpaper from one wall using all the new and recommended chemical strippers and wallpaper perferators
but it would not come off without damaging the drywall. The one method I had not tried was steaming. Everything I read pointed to using these new chemical strippers
and turned me away from trying a steamer. Chemical strippers are not cheap, they are messy and do not work in all cases. Finally, we decided to give the steamer
a try. Decided to buy one rather than rent because it was the same price as renting one for the day and in the end I would own a new tool. Fired it up and in minutes
we were stripping off the paper in large sections! In a days time we had stripped the other three walls with no scraping and very little mess.
